On the occasion of Children’s Day, Diocesan Development and Welfare society together with the children studying at NFE Centres in Kaushambi celebrated the day with full enthusiasm at the premises of St. Joseph Academy Gauspur, Kajipur, Kaushambi on 13th November 2016. Most Rev. Fr. Antony K.K and Rev. Fr. Wilson inaugurated the program. The program started with the prayer. Most Rev. Fr. Antony K.K Director, DDWS in his address blessed the program, encouraged the children and appreciated the efforts being made by them. He also appreciated the initiatives being taken by the children to come forward. He also described the importance of Children’s Day to the children and also motivated them by his inspiring speech.
These children came from the 5 Non Formal Teaching centres running in Kaushambi. 185 children from participated in this event whole heartedly. Main aim of the programme was to give importance to the children as they are special and deserves to achieve their growth and dreams in the healthy surrounding and so attain their full potential to lead a meaningful life in the future.
Further Most Rev. Fr. Wilson, Principal, St. Joseph’s Academy came forward to bless the children. He also interacted with the children and blessed them for their bright future.
Moving on to the programme various activities were planned specially for this day. Children participated in various activities such as frog race, 100 mt race, dance, singing etc. Children took active participation in the celebration and competitions. Some of them won prizes. A Tug of War was conducted for the Teachers and staffs of the project. All the teachers & staffs took part in it. Children were very happy to see their teachers in action; they clapped, applaud and cheered for their respective teachers.
Finally the programme came to an end with the distribution of lunch packets to all who were present in this celebration.
